Following Engadin St. Moritz Mountains, a second customer, Imbergbahn in Steibis in the Allgäu, has now chosen to buy an environmentally-friendly PistenBully 600 E+. The official handover of the second PistenBully 600 E+ in the world took place on 18th December 2012.
The new winter season has begun with a pioneering new purchase for Imbergbahn in Steibis. The ski resort in the Allgäu has become the second customer in the world to acquire the PistenBully 600 E +. The official handover was conducted just before Christmas by the Chief Executive of Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG Jens Rottmair. "We are thrilled that Imbergbahn in Steibis has become the second customer after St. Moritz to choose our PistenBully 600 E+", says Jens Rottmair.
In addition to the clear reduction in harmful emissions, the crucial factor for the Managing Director of Imbergbahn, Thomas Lingg, was the enormous fuel saving facilitated by the new technology of the PistenBully 600 E+ and, thus, the minimised operating costs. The PistenBully 600 E+ reduces fuel consumption and, thus, operating costs by an impressive 20 . This also goes hand-in-hand with a 20- reduction in both CO2 and NOx emissions. The particle filter included as standard also reduces soot particle emissions by 99 . Despite all this, the PistenBully 600 E+ remains a 100- PistenBully with even more driving pleasure.
"For us the topic of sustainability is very important. We sell our customers the joy of nature both in winter and in summer. As a result, we also have to protect the valuable natural resources", emphasises Thomas Lingg. "This machine will definitely achieve acceptance thanks to the long service life of the e-motor, and the savings", adds Thomas Lingg.
The PistenBully 600 E+
The first diesel-electric snow groomer in mountain use worldwide was presented to the eager public in February 2012 at the Kaunertal Glacier. The drive technology not only facilitates a 20- reduction in both NOx and CO2, but also a 20- drop in fuel consumption, which means the associated operating costs also fall by a dramatic 20 . The fact that 99 less soot particles are released into the air is an additional happy bonus.
And yet with all this the PistenBully 600 E+ remains a 100 genuine PistenBully. The E+ and its prototypes EQ.1 and EQ.2 were subjected to extensive tests, because only well-engineered technology meets the exacting quality standards of Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG.
Engadin St. Moritz Mountains has spontaneously decided to invest in environmentally-friendly technology.
CEO Markus Meili had this to say: "Nature is our employer and so we strive to do everything not only to use with as little impact as possible, but also to protect it. In addition, it is extremely important to us to remain in tune with the times when it comes to technology.
