Another highlight of the successful cooperation with Kitzbühel
During the 2012/2013 winter period, LEITNER ropeways and Kitzbühel will continue their successful cooperation and take it to the next level. For the first time, LEITNER ropeways will act as a sponsor of the famous Hahnenkamm Races. The ropeway manufacturer will also construct two further installations with Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel.
The “Zweitausender” 8-seater chair lift and the “Walde” 6-seater chair lift will enter into operation in Kitzbühel during the 2012/2013 winter season. Both chair lifts and a total of six lifts in the Kitzbühel ski area use LEITNER ropeways’ exclusive direct drive. This groundbreaking technology reduces maintenance requirements, ensures greater ride comfort and reduces energy consumption. The energy saved by these six installations using the direct drive could power 1,000 households in Kitzbühel for an entire year. In the implementation of such innovative solutions, Kitzbühel is the perfect partner for LEITNER ropeways. According to Director Dr. Josef Burger, innovation, reliability and client comfort are the main priorities for both Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel and LEITNER. “Through our cooperation, the Bergbahn AG draws additional guests to Kitzbühel and LEITNER generates added value and jobs for Tyrol.”
Alongside the two new lifts, another new development is the sponsoring commitment of LEITNER ropeways at the legendary Hahnenkamm Races. From 2013, they will be the “Hahnenkamm Races transported by LEITNER ropeways”. The event, running since 1931, attracts around 100,000 spectators to the downhill and slalom slopes. Top-class celebrities and international companies are present around the races and at the numerous surrounding events. “The expansion of the partnership with Kitzbühel in conjunction with the sponsoring of the Hahnenkamm Races offers an incredible platform for LEITNER ropeways. In this exclusive environment, our company can optimally present itself as a manufacturer of premium products,” says Martin Leitner, member of the Board of Directors of the South Tyrolean ropeway manufacturer.
