sad to see the halogen lights on the roof still follows this machine..... Shame on Kässbohrer! People landed on the moon the last century, and halogen is still standard on a machine driven 95 percent in dark even if better technology is available!! Uggh.... | Kommentert av: Ole Kristoffer Hole Olsen Dato: 03.03.2009 20.54.16 |

the problem with halogen lights is that because of the extra cost of the "options", no one will buy it! If Kässbohrer had raised the price a littlebit, but included the better and more expensive xenonlight in their basic price, the responsible economic people in the resorts around couldnt have selected away the best light.... Its not a problem for the people who sits in an office all day long in good lighting, but for the drivers who needs to focus on what they are dooing all the night, its really a big problem. And back to the people who buys machines, half of the people doesnt even care if we used manpower to pull the tiller instead of machines, as long as the slope is ready before the tourists arrive... so expecting them to buy us better light is to expect a miracle!
We pray again - who will be the first producer to include xenon as a standard option on their machines? | Kommentert av: Ole Kristoffer Hole Olsen Dato: 03.03.2009 21.57.37 |

on the new everest there will be two xenon work lights in front and two in the backside, and the other 6 are halogen..

i have tried the new everest, and the xenon worklight backward is a success! but the workinglight in front, mixed up with xenon and halogen is if not a disaster, at least close to a disaster! The xenonlighting makes a pretty visible line around 15-20 meters in front of the machine, and outside this line, nothing is possible to see. Even if all lights are turned on, the lighting outside the closest perimeter seems to be like a candlelight. I am really hopeing that Prinoth will make their everests with only xenon lighting in the future, and the explanations about having some halogen lights to have better visibility in poor weather is close to bullshit! It is still possible to turn of lights, even if you have xenon, and by that way gain better visibility in poor weather. The only difference between halogen and xenon is that in good weather, xenon makes a BIG difference. Halogen does not. | Kommentert av: Ole Kristoffer Hole Olsen Dato: 03.03.2009 22.12.46 |

we as machine driver can only hope and pray that in the near future kässbohrer and Prinoth or the others xenon as standard take.. | Kommentert av: Alex Marx Dato: 03.03.2009 22.23.06 |

ONE lonely xenon bulb makes 3 times as much lighting as one H3 halogen bulb, and then you can start out counting.....
Just to play with some numbers: (Keep in mind that 1 time 35w D1S xenon bulb is comparable in light intensity as 3 times 55w H3 / 165w)
The new everest seems to have 2 xenon and 4 halogen (290 watts) directed forward in the top-rack above the windscreen. Counted in HALOGEN ONLY, lighting on top of the everest will be similar to 10 H3 bulbs or 550 watts. At least in Norway, the 600's is delivered with only xenon as standard. 6 of the xenon bulbs (210 watts) gives the same light as 18 H3 bulbs or 990 watts. Because much of the xenonlight is angled only a few degrees down from the machines 0-angle - to gain daylight even far away from the machine - you have good visibility for planning your moves well ahead, and not while you have experienced a wrong "move" and is in the middle of it.
Be sure that this doesnt have anything with what machine who is "the best" or not, but only a matter about that lighting of a machine is so important that the factories shouldnt play around with the drivers! It is a matter for the health of the driver, and when a better technologies than halogen exists, why not use it?!
