Think Green in Red! - PistenBully at the SAM 2012

Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG is presenting its sustainability commitment under the slogan "Think Green in Red!" at the SAM 2012 in Grenoble, which this year is being held from 25th to 27th April. "Think Green in Red!" ranges from sustainable vehicle technologies like the PistenBully 600 E+, the first snow groomer with a diesel-electric drive, or SNOWsat - the integrated navigation system for snow groomers, to the range of training courses available for PistenBully drivers.
Unique PistenBully variety.
The global market leader in snow groomers and track preparation vehicles is presenting its most diverse range of products ever at the French industry meeting: from the PistenBully 100 to the PistenBully 600 W Polar - almost every model will be on show in Grenoble. In addition to the extensive range of new vehicles, accessories and services, visitors can also find out about PistenBully 600 select - almost new PistenBully 600.
The PistenBully 100 has been overhauled: the chassis has been extended with an additional axle. The result is improved weight distribution, which equals much better gradability.
The extremely powerful PistenBully 600 W Polar stands out thanks to its new winch with even more power and longer service life of the gear wheels and shaft bearings. With a 1,050-m rope as standard, but a length of 1,450 m can easily be ordered at any time from the Spare Parts department. The new technology also supports precise and efficient working.
The product range on show at the SAM is completed by the PistenBully 400 Park and the Formatic 350.
Environment in focus: GreenIQ - "green intelligence" for the PistenBully.
When developing new vehicle technologies Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG always remains conscious of the environmental impact. All vehicles on show at the SAM are equipped with engines that meet the strict EURO 3B/TIER 4i exhaust standard.
These 3B engines are capable of greater performance:
the PistenBully 100 now achieves 210 hp, the PistenBully 600 455 hp and the PistenBully 600 Polar even 510 hp.
All vehicles are also available with engines that meet the EURO 3A/ TIER 3 standard, but numbers are limited. Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG is using the "GreenIQ" label for all PistenBully with resource-saving engine and exhaust technology, which means all PistenBully with 3B engines, the PistenBully 600 E+, and the PistenBully 600 TwinPower - the first series production snow groomer with a diesel-gas drive.
Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG is showcasing the PistenBully 600 E+ with diesel-electric drive (hybrid drive) at the SAM. This engine technology consumes up to 25 less fuel and emits less CO2. Attachments powered hydraulically to date can now be powered electrically. The concept of the hybrid enables us to turn the PistenBully into a kind of powerstation in future: it provides enough power to operate external electric tools, e.g. for repair work. The PistenBully 600 E+ was presented to customers in action at the start of February. However, the sustainability factor is not just part of developing new vehicles. With SNOWsat Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG offers an integrated navigation system for snow groomers, which is based on GPS data and the latest inertial technology. In addition to slope management, SNOWsat also provides valuable data on snow depth. This function facilitates very targeted snow placement and grooming of the slopes, which has a clear positive effect on resource management, because less water and energy is consumed. PistenBully drivers are a crucial factor when it comes to economical driving. Kässbohrer offers drivers eco-snow training in close cooperation with an experienced partner. This training teaches drivers how to drive in an economical and ecologically responsible manner.
PistenBully select.
PistenBully select are - available in limited numbers - young PistenBully 600 or PistenBully 600 Polar: The almost new vehicles are overhauled in line with the strictest Kässbohrer quality criteria and are supplied in a fully restored condition, including certificates from Daimler and DEKRA, with extensive equipment and an attractive service package. Ski resorts that expand their fleet with a PistenBully select do not have to contend with any loss in quality compared to a new vehicle. This extended offer was very well received by the market from the start. In addition to the PistenBully select Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG is also presenting its other used vehicle offerings at the SAM 2012.
