Nothing but Sun at the First SHERPA Winch Demo at the Kronplatz

There was radiant sunshine and sparkling snow as the first demo to test the new SHERPA winch took place on January 13, 2011 at the Kronplatz.

With a group breakfast at the valley station, PRINOTH hosted over seventy snow groomer drivers who arrived in good spirits from a variety of ski areas. Having gotten their energy and already filled with curiosity, the action moved up to the slopes, where drivers had the opportunity to convince themselves of the strengths of the SHERPA winch on two ski slopes that had been specially closed for the occasion. The feedback was outstanding. Available on either the Beast or Bison snow groomers, with 4.8 or 4.5 metric tons of pulling force and the WINCONTROL automatic pulling force regulation, the SHERPA has now made the grooming of large areas of steep slopes even easier, safer, and more efficient.
In addition to the Beast Winch and the Bison Winch vehicles, standard vehicles without a winch were also available, and it was possible to try them out as desired, which marked the perfect invitation for many curious skiers and snowboarders to linger for a few moments on the edge of the ski slope to follow the spectacle with interest.
In the evening, a top-class event awaited the numerous onlookers: in the course of the 24-hour race – the world record attempt for the largest possible elevation difference covered in skiing within 24 hours, aspectacular ski show took place during which the eight PRINOTH snow groomers gave a breathtaking performance with exciting show effects.
